BMW Unveils its eRR Electronic Motor Cycle Concept

BMW—Bayerische Motoren Werke AG—has shown its concern about environment by revealing its new motorcycle concept inspired by the S 1000 RR superbike.

This high-end electric sport bike, dubbed the eRR, is a battery-powered alternative to the S 1000 RR while drawing from its look and running gear.

The company has denied revealing technical details about the eRR until “a later date,” but it added that the bike aims at helping the automaker find ways to power sports bike with electricity.

“Since it’s market launch the RR is giving the creeps to motorsport athletes,” says Stephan Schaller, Head of BMW Motorrad. “In acceleration, handling or top speed the RR is setting standards. However, if acceleration on the first meters up to 50-60 km/h, is the point, the RR’s 199 bhp have to admit defeat by another BMW product: the C evolution with its electric drive. We ask ourselves, What happens when combining a sport motorcycle and an electric drive? The experimental vehicle eRR brings the topic of zero emissions and electric drive to a new, fascinating level.”

It is the latest entry into BMW’s collection of EVs–C Evolution scooter, i3 electric town car and the i8 sports car, Gas 2.0 reported.

As far as competition is concerned, BMW has to contend with powerful competitors including the Lightning LS-218 and the TT Zero.

If your BMW develops a problem with its engine, you can consider getting it replaced with reconditioned engine. For information, contact a reliable dealer offering Reconditioned BMW Engines.
